In 91, I chose the new Aprilia AF1 Futura. That was a good choice: powerful and good brakes, stability near to perfect, especially with the new Michelin TX11 and TX23. The only problem was the rear damper that wasn't as good as the rest of the bike (by the rules, we couldn't change it ...).
The friend who should prepare my motorcycle (he works at the Aprilia factory in Noale and is involved in the Italian Sport Production Championship !) was in hospital and could prepare it only in the middle of the season. After the master's touch, I had the top speed in Zeltweg (around 180km/h, measured by a radar gun !).
I was usually in the top five, obtained 2 podiums in Carole and Magny-Cours and a final 5th position.
